As a medical illustrator and oil painter, Beth Sumner Vuelta finds inspiration where medicine and humanity meet. In her collection, “Scrubs & Stuffies,” she brings together the precision of medical devices with the comfort and familiarity of stuffed animals, creating a playful and unexpected conversation. Her technical skills as a medical illustrator informs her careful attention to proportions, form, and lighting.

Scrubs & Stuffies is ultimately about the human side of medicine. These are the moments of vulnerability, comfort, resilience, and tenderness that can exist alongside technology and treatment.

Beth invites viewers to see medical objects not simply as tools, but as witnesses to deeply personal experiences, and to discover warmth and humanity in an environment often defined by sterility and precision.
